Movie Summary
Initially the first thing that came to my head was; hey this is just going to be a remake of the fairytale story and there's nothing interesting to watch about it but as soon as the movie start screening in Singapore, everybody went crazy talking about it and how nice it was and the fact that Emma Watson is acting inside too so like any normal Singaporean, I also follow the craze and watch it together with Wenhui. It was a very last minute plan and we caught it at Cathay Cine at Dhoby Ghaut but the theatre only left the seats at the 2 front rows so we just grab it at that point of time. Belle (Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman, is taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in its castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle's enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast's hideous exterior, allowing her to recognize the kind heart and soul of the true prince that hides on the inside. I hate how Beast captured away Belle's dad when all her dad wanted to do was bring back a stalk of rose for Belle but luckily her dad's horse escape away and bring belle to save her dad and Belle bravely volunteer to exchange her life as a prisoner in place of her dad which ended up her dad went back to the village to try to convince everyone that Beast exist but everyone just thought he is a mad old man spouting nonsense. The bad guy pretend to believe her dad's word but when her dad fail to bring him and his men to Beast's place and beat him up in the forest because Belle's dad angered him by saying Belle won't fall for someone like him. The part where the bad guy beat up Belle's dad in the forest just because he fail to win the heart of Belle and also the part when the whole village doesn't believe in Belle and her dad and believe that Beast is a monster is so nerve-wracking and sad. But luckily teapot and her friends manage to defend Beast castle and helped Beast and Belle to fell in love and break the curse before the last rose petal fell off and I was so worried that Beast will die hahah because the bad guy keep shooting him. Everything is nice about the movie but sometimes I find the dancing and singing part to be a little bit too long and unnecessary even though the effects were bright and nicely done. Ratings: 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
