Din Tai Fung has recently opened in Northpoint City and mum and I went to patronize it since it is located so near to us. And you probably have to queue at least half an hour for your turn. Lucky for me, I don't have to queue as mum already queued and was waiting for me inside. Menu:Stir-fried Spanish with Garlic- A rather average dish so there wasn't any surprising element in it. Steamed Chicken Soup with Noodles- Taste like your average chicken soup with a few pieces of chicken inside and it was served with a bowl of noodles. Overall the combination was rather bland but healthy tasting. Xiao Long Bao- It was kinda disappointing as I was expecting a whole spoon of soup to burst out but it wasn't really to my expectations. Original Sweet & Sour Soup (Small)- Mum told me that she like this sweet and sour soup which was basically make up of some vegetables but I'm not too sure what is it and the soup was added with vinegar for the sour element. The closest dish I can compare or describe to is probably the fake shark fin soup you find in pasar malam. Sliced Duck in Crispy Spring Onion Pastry- Initially at the first bite, you could feel the sweet crispness of the pastry, followed by the saltiness of the sliced duck but subsequently the more duck you savour, the more gelatines kicked in and soon after, I feel myself disliking this dish personally. Salted Egg Bao- I think this was the nicest one out of all the dishes we ordered. The salted egg come flowing out nicely when the bao is being teared in half and served pipping hot and nice.
