Used to work at Raffles Xchange for a few months and I always passed by Gochi-So Shokudo everytime I want to go to the toilet because it is just beside each other and also Daily Cut. But I have never went in to try until today. It can be slightly pricey for some of the dishes but the one we tried was all around the $10 range. They also have shabu shabu beside the usual don and katsu curry rice. There's a variety of sauces to go along with your meat and rice. One of the sauces I tried was the radish one which has radish grainy bits inside. Do note that all the sauces have very strong flavours before adding. The Ballota Loin Katsu Curry was thick and smoky but flavour wise isn’t as good as some of the curry katsu I had in other places. The katsu was not tender and quite hard to chew into. Rice was kind of clunky but still ok when paired with the curry. Overall quite a disappointing dish given for the price they charged for it For those who have not tried Iberico Pork before, it is actually meat from a black pig. I ordered the Iberico Pork Belly Don because I never tried it before and I think for some people like me, one's might not be able to withstand the strong taste of the pork. Not too sure on how to describe the pork taste and if you tried it before then you will understand. I was torn between wanting to add the sauce to my rice because it is too dry but then all the sauce was very strong in flavours. I didn't like the don to be honest. It is probably one of the worst don in my list. Sochi-so Shokudo
